Visiting The Hawkeye Model Railroad
When Are We Open?
The Hawkeye Model Railroad meets every Wednesday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM for work sessions. Visitors are always welcome to stop by, say hello, and see what we’re working on!
Please note: The 3rd Wednesday of the month HMR has a business meeting where members sit down to discuss various happenings that are going on in within the building. We always welcome visitors but generally encourage first time visitors to not attend during business meetings since they last about 1 1/2 - 2 hours and are pure discussion.
If you're hoping to catch trains in action, we encourage you to visit us during one of our upcoming open house events, where all of the layouts will be operating and members will be on hand to answer questions:

Our Railroads
At the Hawkeye Model Railroad, we’re proud to feature five unique layouts under one roof!
In the lobby, you’ll find a G scale layout running high along the ceiling and an N scale layout to explore up close. Step into the main layout room and you’ll discover our massive 2,000 sqft HO scale layout, the centerpiece of our club. Beneath it, the O and S scale layouts add even more variety — making sure there’s something for everyone to enjoy, no matter your favorite scale.
