The Hawkeye Model Railroad Club was formed in 2006 and is a 501(c)3 educational corporation whose mission is to educate the public about railroads and the hobby of model railroading.
It is sad to see our old layout go but we are excited about what the future holds!
The club has moved to the Johnson County Fairgrounds into a brand new 3,300 sq. ft. building along Oak Crest Hill Road (old Highway 218). The building is divided into a museum space and a 2,000 sq.ft. layout room that will house a new HO scale operations based layout designed to incorporate large amounts of foot traffic from the annual county fair. The new layout will primarily be HO scale DCC operated with NCE Digital Command Control. The new layout will also incorporate other model railroading scales. Follow our Facebook page for more layout updates!
We hope you enjoy our site and take a moment to drop us a line.
